By mainstream, I don’t mean oh-so-touristy. But you’ll see more recognizable sights while mixing them up with other quirkier parts of the tours. I won’t recommend any walking tours of the Grand Palace in this post, I’m afraid.

Bangkok has become one of the easiest cities to get around in. We have two metro systems that run to most parts of the city. If you live along the river, the Chao Phraya Express Boat costs only 16 THB (US$0.43) and will take you to any stop along the river.

You can also download the Grab App, which is Thailand’s equivalent of Uber.
